Frequently asked questions
Where do you deliver?
We deliver anywhere in South Africa at a flat rate of R90.00 through a secure, trackable courier service.
Orders are delivered within 2–5 working days once dispatched (excluding weekends and public holidays). You’ll receive tracking information when your order is on the way.

Can I return or exchange a product?
- Unopened, unused items can be returned within 7 days of receiving your order.
- You will be responsible for courier and related costs.
- For perishable goods like tea and edible gifts, we cannot accept returns once the packaging has been opened (for health and safety reasons).

What if my product is damaged or defective?
- For perishable goods, you must notify us within 48 hours of delivery if your order is damaged or defective.
- For non-perishable goods, defects must be reported within a reasonable period (up to 6 months,
in line with the Consumer Protection Act). - Where a product is defective, we will repair, replace, or refund the item unless the issue was caused by misuse, incorrect storage, or normal wear and tear.
- We may also request a photo of the defective product or other reasonable supporting information to help us assess and resolve your claim efficiently.

What payment methods do you accept?
All payments are securely processed through Payfast. We currently accept major credit and debit cards only.
Do you sell outside South Africa?
Not yet. For now, Chai Society is proudly available only within South Africa.
Can I send a gift directly to someone else?
Yes! Simply enter the recipient’s delivery details at checkout. You can also include a personalised message.
Can I schedule delivery for a specific date?
Due to our orders being handled by our external courier partner, we are unable to guarantee delivery on an exact date. That said, our team will make every effort to ensure that your gift is delivered as close as possible to your preferred date. To avoid disappointment, we recommend placing your order with our standard lead times in mind.
Do I have to create an account to order?
No, you can check out as a guest. However, creating an account allows you to track orders more easily and save your details for future purchases.
